Lime Crime Venus 2 Palette Dupes // Makeup Geek

Earlier this year when Lime Crime released the Venus Palette I took some time to look for dupes for those people who wouldn't or couldn't buy the palette and posted them here

With the Venus 2 Palette having just been released I thought I would do the same again.

As Makeup Geek is now even easier to get in the UK as it is stocked on Beauty Bay* and fantastic quality and value for money I thought I would try and pick the closest dupes from the same rage again.

You can find the selection Beauty Bay* have in stock here and the main MUG site here.

Before I start I also wanted to mention Book of Shadows. They are a retailer of magnetic makeup palettes on Etsy and their palettes really are gorgeous (I own 2 and have my eye on number 3). If you need a palette for your MUG shadows I highly recommend checking out their shop here

Onto the palette...

A/W Wishlist // Cosmetics

To be truthful I buy and wear what cosmetics I want all year round and very rarely stick to prescribed trends, it just so happens that a lot of my current wish list would fit the catwalk inspired trends this season anyway.

As you will see below I have featured a lot of NYX cosmetics because I was overjoyed to see them stocked on boots.com . I know NYX has been available in the UK for a while if you know where to look but I love shopping with boots as I can spend or accumulate points, their customer service is fab, and the deliver to store option is fab when I have a branch just across the road from work.

I'm also extra excited by the contour palette - I have the Kat Von D contour palette and only use the banana shade to highlight and the palest contour so don't think I could justify ever repurchasing it.

I'm thinking the NYX version would be a fab replacement (I'm likely to end up buying it anyway) as its far more affordable, has 2 mid tone cool contour shades rather than one, and also has an additional highlight colour.

A/W Beauty picks

Do you have any NYX favourites I need to be adding to my wishlist?

Any recommendation for brushes to use with cream contour products as I just purchased the ABH cream contour palette and I'm slightly intimidated by it?

A/W Moodboard + 2 Missguided Dresses

I love dressing for Autumn and Winter - everything from the colour palette to the popular materials excite me.

The velvets and laces and blacks and purples just scream my name.

Putting together my mood board for this season was so easy - I look to these characters all year round for inspiration and as you will see it the upcoming wish list posts certainly is easier to buy new items for my wardrobe when the highstreet stores are also full of the dark and beautiful.

I will start the wishlist posts with my favourite 2 dresses that I have found online today, both from Missguided

There is this one  which I am hoping will be restocked asap -  I love the cut and the velvet and think it could be a wardrobe staple that will look amazing dressed up or down.

plus size velvet raglan sleeve swing dress  £20.00

and then there is this one and all I can say about this is look at the sleeves !! *swoon*

plus size flared sleeve swing dress black  £35.00

As my wardrobe is full of black all year round I am going to try and be sensible this year and stick to purchasing just a few versatile items of clothing, like the dresses above and some new black jeans (unless anything victoriany appears on the high street).

To indulge my shopping habits I will be spending the next few months looking for the most perfect accessories and beauty must haves. I have put together a few wish list posts already so will add them below as they get posted.

Who do you look to for A/W fashion inspiration ?? Any must haves that you recommend??

Summer Tees

I mentioned in my last post that I have been living in jeans and tee's recently.

Whilst I have yet to find the perfect pair of ripped jeans I have done quite well with my tee's recently and thought I would share some of my favourite purchases and things from my wishlist.

I own the Cynthia Tee and its fab - Its my nod to 90's revival.  The mouse rat tee is on its way and the other 3 are top of my birthday list for next month.

If you have any recommendations for amazing tee's or  plus size short ripped jeans leave me a comment.

Upping my accessories game // Bracelets

I am lacking inspiration with my outfits at the moment especially my work clothes so I have resigned myself to living in jeans and tees at the weekend so I don't need to think about it.

Whilst I have gone out of the way to find some 'me' tee's I think I need to up the accessories ante to make me feel a bit put togtehr.

I have been scouring the internet high and low and here are a few of the pieces (high street and Etsy) I am thinking of adding to my collection.
